Last night before bedtime I pulled out the Uno cards and challenged my husband to a friendly match (actually three). We played, laughed and bantered. It was a lot of fun.

That night I felt happy and with a heart full of love as I was dozing off to sleep. I wondered:
What is it about tonight that made me feel a deeper sense of love and appreciation towards my man? What made tonight so special?
I was in my warm fluffy pyjamas, no makeup and my hubby in his grandpa dressing gown (as my kids call it). There was nothing special about the night, well not in a way I would tell my girlfriends. However, the night was very special, I was there with my husband, present, laughing and just being me.
That is when I realized in life we get caught up and believe big events and big actions (such as a night out for dinner and Gold Class movies) are what we need to keep the flame burning in our relationship. Where actually it is the little consistent fun moments like a game of Uno that helps the spark burn brighter.
“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.”
Robert Brault
The little moments are so much easier to do and fit in an already busy schedule such as being the kids’ personal taxi, working full time in a corporate job, running a business, staying healthy, managing the household and so much more.
What is a little moment that you enjoy in your relationship?
